How do I get my prescription?

Visit any optician (or use our home eye test service) the optician must furnish you with a copy (you do not have to purchase glasses from their store).

How are your prices so low?

Simple, no middle men! You deal directly with the laboratory and manufacturers plus by purchasing online all the savings are passed directly on to you!

Can you do Varifocals?

Yes, obviously they are more expensive however, we are far more commercially correct than the everyday Highstreet optician.

What are your lenses made of?

Lightweight plastic lenses with scratch resistant coating, we also offer thin 1.67 lenses for an additional cost.

Can you match my existing frame measurement?

Yes – simply fill in the boxes in our unique spec match panel and Highstreetspecs will do the rest.

What are your payment methods?

Accept Paypal and all major credit / debit cards plus cheques via mail order form.

What if I enter my prescription incorrectly?

Call us immediately! We want to manufacture your spectacles as soon as possible so please double check that you have filled the form correctly. If they have already been made then the costs stand, however we will do our best to accommodate.

Can you reglaze my existing spectacles?

More than likely, providing your frame is still fit for purpose and not Rimless we should be able to accommodate. Put your glasses and prescription order form together with payment details in the post and we will contact you with prices prior to manufacture.

What is your Guarantee?

100% no quibble on all standard single vision and Bi focal lenses – Varifocal and special lenses will have to be charged for ie: Tints, coatings, VTI responder or special lenses outside the standard parameters.

What is PD (Pupilery Distance) or OC`s Ocular centres?

We would prefer to have these numbers, please checkout (how to measure your pupilery distance) if not we will take an average of 63mm for distance and 61mm for reading, opticians miss this simple measurement off the form so you buy a pair from their practice, either insist they put this figure on the original prescription form or follow the highstreetspecs simple step by step process!

Do you offer Postage refunds?

No we do not offer refunds on postage.

Can I Try before I buy?

Yes – just click to try! We can supply you with up to 3 frames from the £15.00 to £45.00 ranges – we will charge your credit or debit card £5.00 per pair plus £2.50 postage, all items need to be returned within the 14 day period for credit otherwise the charges stand.

Do you accept NHS vouchers?

No sorry we cant at present, although we are looking in to it.

What are the delivery costs?

Orders less than £50.00 = £2.50 (1^st class)
Orders of £50.00 or more = £5.50 (signed for)
International delivery £15.00 (signed for)

How long does it take to process an order?

Normally within 2 weeks, however it can take a little longer depending on the complexity of the order, or just pure demand.

How strong a prescription can you cater for?

Our lens parameters are +6.00 / - 2.00 and – 6.00 / + 2.00 however we can quote you individually outside these figures, just contact us for further details.

How can i view my orders or details?

Simply loggin with your email address and password used at registration. Here you will be able to view all information that we have stored for you. No credit or debit card details are held by HighStreetSpecs to assist in your personal data security.

How are my details used?
